Avoid the Pitfalls of Oversizing Booster Systems and Drawdown Tanks
What You Will Learn
One of the more difficult aspects of planning and designing plumbing systems is the sizing of a booster packages. The sizing process for any mechanical system can be challenging, but the industry literature on booster sizing offers no universally accepted approach or standard; whilst literature on sizing hydropneumatics (expansion) tanks are often focused on closed loop system. Issues associated with under-sizing is well documented and felt almost immediately. But over-sizing presents its own set of issues, including excessive consumption of energy and water, pre-mature equipment wear, exacerbation of leaks and contamination due to long term stagnation. This session will be of interest to design engineers, contractors and building developers.
